Discover the Algarve from a beautiful accommodation in a natural setting, away from mass tourism yet not remote.
Thanks to its central location, Quinta das Piteiras – Turismo Rural is the ideal base for a culture, hiking or beach holiday. All essential amenities are close by, with the historic town of Silves just 1 km away. The coast and its beautiful beaches are only about a 20-minute drive, allowing you to perfectly combine the tranquility of the countryside with a day by the sea. The quinta is especially suited for couples, friends and families with older children who appreciate space, comfort and nature.
Quinta das Piteiras is an excellent base for walking and hiking holidays, offering a wide variety of routes both in the mountainous inland and along the coast. Diverse trails lead you through rolling hills, past orchards and small rivers, as well as along cliffs and sandy beaches with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
After a day at one of the Algarve’s most beautiful beaches, you can cool off in the small-scale swimming pool or enjoy a refreshing rinse under the outdoor cold-water shower. Relax on a sunbed in the shade of the yucca tree, with a good book, a drink, and all the time in the world.
Quinta das Piteiras owes its name to the many cacti surrounding the property: agaves are called piteiras in Portuguese.
The estate covers 1.3 hectares and is richly planted with olive, almond, carob and fig trees, enhancing its authentic rural character.
The oldest part of the main house dates back to 1900. The small-scale guest accommodation, the Turismo Rural, was built in 2018/2019 and carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the original house. Traditional Portuguese architectural elements are combined with modern comfort, creating a harmonious balance between authenticity and contemporary convenience.
The 5 comfortable guest rooms are spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated, inviting you to relax and unwind. A large terrace stretches in front of the rooms, allowing you to step directly into the fresh morning air from your bed. Here, you are surrounded by nature and can enjoy sweeping views of the Monchique Mountains, with nothing around you but olive and carob trees—and perhaps a few of our free-roaming chickens!
At the end of the day, the terrace becomes the perfect place to fully unwind. In complete silence, watch the sun slowly set behind the mountains while sipping a good glass of Portuguese wine. Time seems to stand still here—just as a holiday should be.
